AI Knowledge is an educational app that gives you short, plain-language explanations of common AI terms and technologies. This policy explains what information the app handles and how. AI Knowledge is an educational tool; its content is simplified and provided for general learning, not as professional advice.
- No account and no sign-in. You can use the whole app without registering.
- Your reading progress and settings stay on your device. They are not sent to us.
- Translations happen on your device. When you pick a language, the app may download an offline translation model from Google, then translate content locally on your phone.
- We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand, in aggregate, how the app is used.
- We show ads via Google AdMob. In regions that require it (such as the EEA and the UK), we ask for your consent first.
- We do not use your microphone, camera, contacts, or location, and we do not ask you to provide personal details.
Information the app handles
Information stored on your device
- Reading progress — which concepts you've opened/read, so the app can pick up where you left off. Stored locally in the app's database.
- Preferences — your chosen language and whether you've completed the first-run setup. Stored locally.
- Cached translations — translated text is cached locally so it loads instantly next time and works offline.
This information stays on your device, is not transmitted to us, and is removed when you clear the app's storage or uninstall the app.
On-device translation (Google ML Kit)
When you choose a language, the app may download a translation language model from Google's servers. After the model is downloaded, translation of the app's educational content runs on your device — the text is not sent to us for translation. Model downloads are handled by Google Play services; see Google's policies below.
Usage analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to see how the app is used so we can improve it. This may include:
- App activity — events such as screens viewed, a topic being opened, the language you selected, and onboarding completion.
- App and device information — such as app version, device model, operating system version, and general (coarse, often country-level) region derived from your IP address by Google.
- Identifiers — analytics/app-instance identifiers used to measure usage.
We use this data in aggregate and do not use it to identify you personally.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
We show ads using Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google may collect and use certain information, such as device and advertising identifiers, and may use it for personalized or non-personalized advertising in line with your consent choices. In regions where it is required (for example the EEA and the UK), we present Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form before ads are personalized, and you can change your choice at any time from Settings → Privacy options.
How we use information
- To provide core features (showing content, translating it, and remembering your progress).
- To understand and improve how the app is used (analytics).
- To display ads that help keep the app free, subject to your consent where required.
Your choices
- Ad consent — where applicable, manage your consent from Settings → Privacy options in the app.
- Advertising ID — you can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device's system settings (Settings → Google → Ads).
- Reset progress — clear which concepts are marked as read from Settings → Reset progress.
- Delete local data — clear the app's storage or uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data (progress, preferences, cached translations, and downloaded language models).

Data retention and security
Data stored on your device remains until you clear the app's storage or uninstall the app. Analytics and advertising data handled by Google are retained according to Google's own retention policies. We take reasonable measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children's privacy
AI Knowledge is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
International users
The app is available in many regions. Analytics and advertising data may be processed by Google on servers located in other countries in accordance with Google's policies and applicable data-transfer safeguards.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
